The British Columbia and Yukon FIRST Tech Challenge Championship Tournament will be held at St. Margaret’s School in Victoria on Saturday and Sunday February 22,23 2025. FIRST Tech Challenge championship tournaments include judging sessions, robot inspections, qualification matches, playoff matches, and awards.

Are you new to programming? Interested in learning Java? Looking to learn about programming for FIRST Tech Challenge?
An introductory Java programming course using Android Studio is being offered from 17 October 2024 to 5 December 2024. It will run from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Esquimalt High School in Room 221. No workshop on 31 October 2024. Please fill out the form below if you are interested and come join us on October 10th! We can accommodate approximately 25-30 students and have a couple of driverbots available for code testing. If a team is interested to bring their own bot, they certainly may.

From February 28th to March 2nd, 2024, FIRST Robotics British Columbia will host 42 FIRST Robotics Competition robotics teams from around the world—along with their robots, built and programmed by high school students—at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for the only competition of its kind in B.C.
Aimed at providing learning and development opportunities for kids in technology, this competition will showcase the robots in an epic battle that combines sport, science, and teamwork.
Stop by the program displays to find out more about FIRST robotics and how you can get involved and compete with your own robot! FIRST events are free and open to the public, best viewing will be during match play.
February 28 will be set-up day and team load-in will be from 5-8pm.
February 29 8:30am Pits, Machine Shop, Registration and Inspection Open. There will be practice matches from 12:30-7pm.
March 1 will have opening ceremonies at 8:30am with qualification matches from 9am-6pm. Lunch break 12-1pm.
March 2 will have opening at 8:30am and qualification matches from 9am-12:30, then playoff matches start at 1:30pm followed by an awards ceremony that should end around 4:30pm.

A scrimmage is an unofficial FIRST Tech Challenge event where Teams help each other improve their Robots, play Robot Matches, attend workshops, and socialize. This scrimmage is organized more like an official event with robot inspections in the morning so teams can experience what an event is like and have their robots checked out.
